Computers Donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Houston

As a part of our corporate responsibility program, Eureka Midstream recently donated refurbished laptops and desktops to Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Greater Houston. BBBS is a national organization that provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supporter one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Stephen Morgan, Sr. Vice President of TransTex Treating, a subsidiary of Eureka Midstream, commented “As a Big Brother, I’ve experienced firsthand the impact this organization has on a child’s life, and I’m thrilled that our company is able to contribute to this worthy cause.”

“BBBS helps children realize their potential, build their futures and achieve success.” Studies show that mentorship makes a big impression in a child’s life. “Eighty-one percent of former Littles surveyed agree their Big gave them hope and changed perspective of what they thought possible.” As noted by Darryl Blackburn, BBBS Development Officer, former Little Brother and Big Brother, said “We are honored and pleased that Eureka chose our organization for their gifts.”

The computers were distributed to selected families and students based on their need, benefit, and the absence of a computer in the home. One recipient shared, “Thank you so much. I will be doing my home work on my computer and also do research papers. I am so excited that I cried when my Big gave me the computer that day.”
